Poland created a phosphorescent bike path!

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Poland, Olsztyn – In the North East of Poland, the small town of Olsztyn is currently testing a new type of bike path which is … phosphorescent!

The Polish town of Olsztyn since early October has a 100m length bike path, that the the authorities and the producers claim proudly to be “ecological and phosphorescent”. If the trials are successful, this kind of bike path could extend to many towns, and of course not only in Poland.

The new type of surface absorbs the sunlight by day, and is able to glow for about 10h, illuminating the cycling road at night without the need for wiring or electricity consumption. Safety and usability of bike paths could be greatly enhanced with this Polish technology. Oh, and the color might be chosen at will!
