Hungary, Budapest – The city revealed the logo she has chosen to promote her candidature for the Summer Olympics. The Hungarian Olympic Committee has shown it during the «Hello Budapest 2024!» festival on Thursday 14, with Budapest mayor István Tarlós and government commissioner Balázs Fürjes.
Budapest is the last of the 4 competitor cities to have shown her logo. It was created by a group of young designers from the Graphasel studio, and selected out of close to 200 applications. The city is really willing to host the Olympics, as it can be seen with the numerous videos and updates on the Budapest 2024 Facebook page.
The other candidates are Paris, Los Angeles and Rome, and the winner city will be announced in 2017 in Lima, Peru. Rio de Janeiro will host the Olympics in 2016, and Tokyo in 2020. So maybe the Olympics could return to Europe in 2024. But competition is fierce, especially with Paris because 2024 will be the 100th anniversary Paris hosted the Games for the first time, in 1924.
