Poland – Temporary border checks have been established on Sunday and will last until August 2. In July, Poland will host the NATO summit in Warsaw (8-9 July) and the World Youth Days (25-31 July) in Kraków.
In order to secure the territory before these two events, the NATO summit and the World Youth Days, Poland controls the borders with her EU neighbours – Czechia, Germany, Lithuania, Slovakia, and also ports and airports. People moving near the border – Poles leaving for holidays, hikers – are urged to take an ID card or passport with them. Checked individuals are selected on risk analysis and other countries may provide informations about them.
Also, the local border traffic has been suspended with Russia’s Kaliningrad enclave and Ukraine.
